So does this ruling mean that states rights are not effective against federal laws. Brings up an issue of many federal laws being set in place or are in place. Health care law for one. States lawsuits against health care go to the supreme court the lawsuit will be shot down,

Just wait and see on this point. The feds are going to try and do away with state gov'ts and all states will operate under federal law. The states may remain but the feds will appoint czars and
czarettes to run each state. It's coming.

The 10th Amendment is the only thing that can save us from our dear leaders.

Federal law trumps State law.
State law trumps local city, town and village laws.

For example: You can't have some small town decide it is OK to drive through red lights if State law says you can't. Or decide it is OK to drive 100 mph inside city limits, when State law says the maximum is 70 mph on freeways only. etc;

However, this seems to rightfully be more of a safety issue and that makes complete sense to me. Regardless of what law trumps the other. Any State that allows drugs that can alter the perception and judgement of a worker is a dangerous precedent.

@truecritic, I beg to differ, federal law does not trump state law. That's what the 10th Amendment is all about. The federal gov't is an entity created by the states and is granted its power by the states.

Due to a short conversation with Rick G....I'll just concede that there may be circumstances where State law trumps federal law.
