Frozen Chosun

This picture was taken in November, 1963, a few days after the assassination of JFK.  I've told about all that in the archived July entry, entitled, "The more they stay the same".

At the time of this picture forty some years ago, the US had already been in Korea for 13 years.  They're still there.

I see in the ABQ Journal today that the Chinese are going to squeeze the North Koreans into dropping their nuclear weapons program.

This would be a great time for the US President to declare victory in Korea and bring those troops home.  In the future, if Koreans have problems between themselves, let them settle them without US intervention.

The South Korean government can afford to pay in lives and treasure to defend itself.  We no longer can afford to do it for them.
