Too bad they're not as 'tough' at the south border as they are at the north border.
Oh, wait, real actual armed criminals operate near and cross -- the south border.

I guess a lot of liberals will listen to that recording and get all worked up about "mistreatment" of someone. Personally, I think the border cops handled those jerks perfectly. The only mistreatment was the disgusting, rotten attitude of the Canadians who acted like the USA was their doormat. Hopefully next time they visit our country they will treat the border cops with respect, and they will value the opportunity to come here.

It's not a liberal/conservative issue. If the 'jerks' didn't have a lit fuse in their pants or drugs/explosives in their car, the reasonable thing to do would be to send them on their way and look for people who are *actually* dangerous.

No wonder our tourism industry is nosediving.

I personally would expect the same treatment if I were crossing the border into either Canada or Mexico. Sounds like this is a random choice. Guy's attitude leaves a lot to be desired which may have prompted their actions.

Too bad the same care hasn't been operating on the Mexican border.

Custom officers are god at the borders. Clearly the customs officer asking what specific store, was a bully and an idiot unless he had reason to suspect something.    In which case he used that question to "set" the Canadian up. Any reasonable person would be upset at a stupid question. They could have just had him pull his car over to the side and conduct their search - they don't need to ask stupid questions first. The Canadian, being involved with law enforcement, should have kept his mouth shut instead of fighting god.

The travelers made a crucial mistake. They should have donned Islamic garb; she should have worn a burka. Then they could have entered with AK-47's, several kilos of herion, a bomb or two, and the floor plans to the Pentagon. Then they would have not only passed easily over the border, but given food stamps, a couple of welfare checks, voter registration cards, and a certificate of live birth from the great State of Hawaii.

Also, asking which stores they were planning on visting was a stupid question. I go to the mall almost every day with no specific store in mind. I wager you do too.

Most cops were beat up when they were young and take their aggressions out as donut eating loser adults. Power hungry morons who abuse the powers given to them.

What the officers need to do is tell all Canadians on how to correctly tip Taxi drivers in the U.S. Atleast then, the cops can become useful.
