Our kids in Mich, take the meaps, they were promised ( U PROMISE MONEY FOR COLLEGE)
Kids who maintained a certain score thru out elementary , middle and high school would have that money, ALOT OF KIDS WORKED HARD , STRESSED THEM SELVES OUT TO DO WELL ON THE TESTS ONLY TO HAVE OUR B ITCH GOVENOR TAKE THE MONEY AWAY, SORRY TO BAD..WE GOT ILLEGALS TO FEED, WE GOT TEACHERS DOUBLE DIPPING, THEY RETIRE GET 100K IN PENSIONS, THEN ARE HIRED BACK AT 80K, THEN THEY TELL US "WELL WERE SAVING 20K"
THE GIANT COST OF EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN, ISN'T BECAUSE OF OUR CHILDREN, ITS THE PENSIONS AND PERKS AND IT RUINING THE SYSTEM!
NOW IT GETS BETTER, THIS YEAR I HAVE SEEN MANY FULL TIME TEACHERS COME THROUGH WITH FOOD STAMPS, THEY GET UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE SUMMER MONTHS. I'M P ISSED AND FED UP.
NOT ONLY DO I PAY SOME OF THE HIGHEST PROPERTY TAXES IN MICH., I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO SHELL OUT AN EXTRA 7 TO 8 HUNDRED DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET THIS YEAR FOR SCHOOL RELATED SUPPLIES AND ACTIVITIES. EVERY MONTH THERE WILL BE A NEW FUND RAISING PROGRAM GOING ON AND THE SCHOOLS WILL CONVINCE US THE KIDS WON'T LEARN A THING UNLESS WE PARTICIPATE. THE PROPERTY TAX MONEY AND THE 618 MILLION FROM THE LOTTERY PLUS FEDERAL MONEY ISN'T ENOUGH TO EDUCATE 2 MILLION KIDS. HMMMMMMMM

Thanks Sully! Seems it's that way most everywhere. Here in Georgia many parents want the voucher system where tax money to educate follows the child to the parent's choice of schools. I favor such a system because it removes the arbitrary use of throwing money on something which may not be working for those being taxed out the waz for it.

Apparently the whole thing will have to be put under a microscope in every state due to loss of revenue from foreclosures. Hey maybe they could collect property taxes from banks????? Think that might work???

Government needs to leave Education to those that have been schooled for it, not intervened by this Administration or any other.
It needs to NOT to be restricted , it needs to breathe and be FREE form governments idealogics. If you think this Government has it's heart in the right place for education, look again, because all they're doing is brain-washing the system....
If they were really that concerned they would look at China's and Japan's education system and see how their education system florishes. These children actually enjoy going to school, because they're being taught education and not being brain-washed.

Thanks Maddog! I believe education should be a state's and local issue. Agree Chinese and Japanese kids are far excelling American kids due to higher education and achievement being stressed in their education systems and by parents.
