I cringe every time I read that Social Security is an entitlement program. I am paying into Social Security. My employer is paying into Social Security. How is that program an "entitlement" when two separate entities are paying for it?

Other than that, I agree that the Federal government needs to downsize in more ways than one. We have bureaucracies wasting time and money. We have too many employees doing the work which one person can do. We are passing out money faster than the presses can print it. Some programs are outdated yet are still functioning.

I like part of the Republican agenda. I like the part about reviewing every government program and eliminating those that are wasteful. Do I think that will ever happen? Me, neither.
