Alabama Here I come.

Earlier this year i posted that i may be moving to Alabama. Well it looks like i have a job opportunity in the Birmingham/Talladega area. If all goes well i will be leaving for Alabama Saturday morning. With a visit to the plant operations and interview Monday.

I don't really want to leave the State of Michigan but in the last year and ten months i have put out 191 resumes. Had misc interviews and have been told i am over qualified, or never heard a word from the hiring managers after the interview. I have followed up with phone calls and thank you letters with no reply either way. How unprofessional for a hiring manager.

All in all i am happy to be headed south. Sweet Home Alabama? Only time will tell.

I will miss the lottery, but i got mama here who plays, we will be playing jointly! Hyper

The very best of luck moving into a new awesome job situation! Hey you won't be too far from the Georgia line so you can make a run every few of weeks for tickets. Alabama's been helping keep Georgia green with lottery dollars for a long time. ;-)

Thx brels and Konane, I expect i will be making trips to Georgia more often than that :) It's only an interview but it sounds very good. They need a manager with predictive maintenance skills to go along with preventative skills and has worked in a fast paced just in time atmosphere. Someone who shows urgency, as i hear it the current manager sais to the plant manager "Oh you wanted that done today" <Say that with a southern accent. LoL Thanks for the kind words, i hope it works out also, i could drive my 1967 Cutlass year round down there. :)

NO A/C in the Cutlass, but i will need a nice electric fan set up to keep her cool. I love the heat. Got my Jeep that does have A/C. Thx for the best wishes.

I do know one of the prerequisites is you must be able to travel to Germany for traning for 2 weeks, on their dime. Well i already have a passport, just need a visa for Germany. They pay for everything while you are there, lodging, food, BEER, car, cell phone. With a trip to France to one of their processing facilities. There's also time to go on small excursions to well like Amsterdam. :)

You have to go where opportunity takes you. You've been a great addition to the Challenge, with your predicting as well as your comments and humor. Drop in every once in a while to let us know how you're doing. Best of luck to you...!

Thanks MADDOG10, you are 100% correct opportunity is knocking and i must answer. Thanks for the good comments, i love the challenge and all the people, even know Alabama does not have the Lottery i'm hoping they have the internet, :) I plan on staying active on LP but you never know how demanding this job will be.

LP gets around, i was at a gas station at Jefferson and South River road in Harrison Township MI and conversing with a couple friends when this unknown person asked, your CutlassBob? I'm like, ya how ya doing. He sais "i've seen you on lottery post" thanks for the numbers. I thought he was gonna beat me up, LoL What a small world we live in now days.

Interview in AL was postponed till next Friday. They had some issues in the plant and did not want me there at that time. So now i get to interview on October 29th and go to NASCAR at Talladega on their dime.

Can't wait to go now, the job interview will be awesome and the race will be the best party i could hope for.

Although last weekend i did get an interview in Cadillac Michigan, that went well.

Cutlass, from one northener that moved south to another. The South is wonderful but there is no place like home. If you want it, the job is yours! All of LP is pulling for your success. We wish joy and all green lights. There is no time like the time we're in and with all your skills.

Wow from the state that used to be known for cars to the state that's known for racing them. That has got to be a good omen.
