A Tribute to Max

Published:

My cat Max was diagnosed with a terminal liver disease in August. He never got better. Last night I had to make the decision between his quality of life and the pain he was probably going through vs. my selfish interests to keep him alive. I made that decision and my sons and I said our goodbyes. This morning I took him in to be euthanized. He was only 11 years old...reinforcing my belief that only the good die young.

The reason I'm writing this is two-fold. One, to get my feelings down on paper and two, because this cat is the best one I've ever owned and I've had many, so my emotions are running high.

This is my lame eulogy for a very cool cat. We all really loved him. He was born on or about 6/6/94 so I'm playing 6694 in his honor. If it were to perhaps come in, it will help me to know I made the right decision at the right time.

Thank you for letting me express our loss.

That's a tough one to cope with. Sounds like he had a good life and a loving home, I know he'll be missed. Sorry about your loss.

Have read and find it pausable that beloved pets reincarnate again and again with us .... so he may be back. It's said that if you look into the eyes of a potential new pet you will be able to tell. Perhaps his soul simply needs a healthier body so he can come back and continue what you two began.

My heartfelt sympathies for your loss because losing a loved pet is indeed like losing a family member.

Rick, it is indeed very difficult to lose a pet, it becomes a part of your family and the passing away of any one that you love is very difficult at the best of times. However, it was both very selfless of you and very brave to put an end to Max's misery.

I hope you'll change your mind about your blog, Rick.

I never thought you were attacking me, but if you wanted to, it would be okay. I see you, or anyone else as having that right. I gots a thick skin. But I didn't think you were doing it and I do enjoy your blog entries.

I'm also still sorry about your cat.

Hang in there amigo. Things aren't important enough to let them ruin a moment of life.

Regards,
Jack

Jack,

Thank you for the comments on my fravorite pet. As you know via our PM's, my comments were not in reference to your blog entries. It would probably be smart for me to avoid that venue of expression because I seem to not make myself clear enough to use that form of personal expression or any other forum for that matter. But that's cool...I'm not here to talk so if I can learn to keep my mouth shut, there won't be any further problems....lol

But I still like your blog entries and they have nothing to do with mine and I will still enjoy reading them.

Again, good work in your jackpot game picks....they're kickin'.

Rick
