Since Arizona is an open carry state, it's a shame that there wasn't an armed citizen nearby.

"A congressional official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity that the gunman was using an automatic weapon".

Why would the congressional official need anonymity to describe the gun as an automatic? "Never let a good crisis go to waste".

Too soon to tell what happened, way too soon, but don't worry they'll spin to the worst possible conclusions ASAP.

So that they wouldn't be called out if it turns out to be a semi-auto.

Yeah, I immediately thought of the Oklahoma City aftermath; "hate radio" and all that.

Another 15 headless bodies found across the border this morning, what the heck is going on in Mexico?

She is still alive! The bullet apparently went through her temple and out the other side, but they expect her to survive. Truly a miracle!

Good to hear. Folks should also know, the guy (allegedly) responsible is already in custody.
