Forced Anti-Virus Software

Published:

I have someanti-virus software that was forced on my computer last Sunday and now I can't get the crap off. It will probably only go away if I buy their crap. If I wanted the software I would have bought it. I don't want it. It says I have 66 viruses, trojans, etc and it says it has blocked an attempt of ID theft and even gave the IP address which I wrote down. All this crap has probably come from the people who want me to buy their crap. It may work fine snd do its job but it was forced on me/computer and that is the reason I am calling it crap. It has also screwed up all my anti-virus settings. I can't get it to work unless I go to the adminstrator. so I have been boycotting it. It comes on with a pop-up with the words prevent something or other and when I do a bigger pop-up comes on advertising this crap. I thought about telling who/what it is but that would be giving them free advrtising so that leaves out tellin my e-mail friends about this crap. I just got a system alert fron this crappy place telling me I may have malicious softare on my PC. And told me to click on their product to get rid of it.  I am done ranting now. for awhile anyway

Restore your computer to a previous date. That should remove the virus. That's what the ad is... a virus.

Yep, restore to a previous date before this happened. Also Go to smartbuster.com and download their program the free version,   It works...! You can clean up any thing on your computer with this..

People can do 1 of 3 things:
Nothing
Take the computer to someone who knows what to do about the problem(s)
Learn how to deal with the problem(s)

Restore is best option, it ain't an AV program you got, then Dload MSEessentials and full scan. You can also run MRT first from the run line this is Malware removal tool from Microsoft. Start--->Run--->type MRT---->press enter, read options full scan it.

First use the Add/Remove Programs feature to uninstall any virus protection you currently have installed. Then go to http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials and run the installer.

After its installed, choose the options to update to the latest definitions, and immediately run a Full Scan.

In the future: NEVER, EVER click any popup boxes that appear in the middle of the screen. They are viruses masked to look like genuine Windows popups. Always click the red "X" to close them.

Microsoft Security Essentials warnings appear at the lower-right corner of the screen.

start your computer in safe mode by pressing f8 as soon as it starts the boot process. don't worry about how strange the screen looks or all the things you see running across screen.
depending on operating system the prompts vary but accept /acknowledge that you want to run in safe mode.
now try the restore and go back at least a couple weeks before you first saw it. you will lose any programs you installed during that time. your files, pictures etc are not affected.

good luck

GO TO AVG on the the internest. Can't post the web address, but that will work.   Its free, I used it to clean a nasty virus off my computer twice. THEN I bought the full suit of products and have been worry free since.

IMPORTANT:   DO SOMETHING BEFORE THE VIRUS WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ACCESSING THE INTERNET. AFTERWARDS YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A SHOP TO HAVE IT REMOVED.

Wish you the best!
