Alert - FEMA has re-scheduled the "Great Shakeout" Drill

Published:

The earthquake disaster drill called the Great Shakeout 2011 involves a scenario of a major New Madrid earthquake.  Most major govt agencies are participating.  Massive amounts of emergency food rations and blankets have been ordered by FEMA in the last couple of months.

The drill was scheduled for May 26th.  It has been moved forward by a whole month to April 28th.

Considering the logistics of planning such a large drill, it is highly unusual that they are rescheduling it.

Probably lock the gate and post armed guards after all they can get in.

Why on earth would they order food rations and blankets for just a drill?

TigerAngel, I don't have a link to the FEMA dehydrated food requisition but it was widely reported in Feb. (?) that they were seeking dehydrated food rations (like Mountain House) to be able to feed a million people for 10 days and to have a shelf life of three years. It is my understanding that major companies like Mountain House have been fulfilling their requisition.

As for the blankets, I didn't see the requisition but have heard about it second hand, so the info may be unreliable.
