Don't know if it's related to the flare but check out the HAARP magnetometer, specifically the black line (positive magnetic northward) spike that happened a little while ago:

Also the HAARP induction magnetometer for magnetic north - (lots of color = not good)

There is a lot of concentrated energy at our magnetic north right now.

Thanks Rick! Magnetic north has been moving northwest into Russia. Maybe they're trying to 'nail it in place'.
