pick 4 matched 3/4, only one in position... a miss is still a miss.

So far the digits that it gives appear to be more or less good as KEY DIGITS, for both games.
If at least 1 digit was always in the right position, then they would be even better key digits.
Not bad anyway.
You tried pairs, did you ever try your workout using just 1 vertical digit instead of 2 ?
Give it a try and see what gives. (let me know how it does if you do)
