What would be required for Obambi to remove himself from contention? The man is a narcissist (sp?). He would never volunteer. So what would be required?

If he does excuse himself from re-election, look deep to find the reasons behind his recusal. They won't be pretty.

The ego thing is good point. However if "the machine" is against him, they will make it very difficult and he will have no choice but to withdraw. If he doesn't withdraw willingly then he risks some major scandals to be exposed that would make it virtually impossible to run. It is "the machine's" choice, not his.
