Newt Gingrich To OWS Protesters "Go Get A Job Right After You Take A Bath"

On Saturday, November 19th, Republican President Candidates Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich were guests at the Family Leader Thanksgiving Forum* in Des Moine, Iowa.  Gingrich had this to say about the Occupy Wall Street Movement:

Gingrich, a former U.S. House Speaker, later told the crowd that as president he would encourage legislation to cut federal money from any local or state government that penalizes adoption organizations that don’t allow same-sex couples to adopt.

“The degree to which the left is prepared to impose intolerance and to drive out of existence traditional religion is a mortal threat to our civilization and deserves to be taken head-on and described for what it is, which is the use of government to repress the American people against their own values,” Gingrich said.

Gingrich shared an emotional moment when talking about abortion, noting a boy his family is close to who had to endure both heart problems and a brain tumor yet was full of energy and a drive to enjoy life.

One of his most applauded lines came when he said he would remain unapologetic about going after terrorists or other national threats.

“You come into our country and you kill 3,100 people, and we will do whatever it takes to eliminate your capacity to threaten us ever again,” Gingrich said.

He then said what he would say to government leaders in Iran:  “You have a short time to solve this on your own, and if you don’t, we will solve it for you, and we frankly couldn’t care less what the rest of the world thinks.”
