Bus to nowhere

Published:

It's now Day 5 of Metro Transit strike, with no end in sight and no talks planned

Transit strike negotiations are going nowhere . Fast.

There was no movement over the weekend. Both sides are sticking to their guns.

Metro Transit wants the union to take it's latest offer to it's members for a vote, and the union's bargaining team wants to be back at the bargaining table.

The three big things already remedied through previous negotiations are part- time workers, contracting out and making workers the highest paid in Canada.

They are sticking to their position and haven't had any recent communication with the union. Party

Thanks, they are very stubborn at coming to some type of agreement in the bus union, so it is taking time!

Unions start out good and quickly become worse than the problem they originally confronted. They're like a cancer that destroys everything it touches after a while.

The union members are arguing over more pay, even though they are already paid very well, and they don't want to be working 12 hour shifts, which they don't have to work all the time, just certain days. But they knew when they started their jobs what the hours would be .. Now they want to gripe about it. And basically stranding paying passengers!
