Looking to strike a deal

Both sides in transit impasse ready to make separate offers, met with councilator at 10:30 a.m. today

If an agreement is reached, it would still take a few days for regional buses to start rolling again

Ken Wilson, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 508, announced to reporters in Grand Parade.

Each side has it's offer to make as Metro Transit and the union returned to the bargaining table on Wednesday morning.

The members of ATU Local 508 have prepared a counter- offer to the employer's final (offer).

Unions would usually rather see something destroyed than give an inch.
The best thing you can do is vote against the party that supports unions and don't buy union products.

Don't listen to rdgrnr Elizabeth. Republicans hate Unions. We can't be reponsible for what others abuse. Unions are necessary, at least in this country given its history.

Do the right thing and love is the best policy. Reponsibility and accountabilty lies within ourselves.

I believe that unions are necessary to protect workers absolutely; But in this case the union members are not willing to compromise on bus issues and they want to be out picketing. Customers in the meantime are without necessary bus service!
