Political Chumps!

Published:

A segment of Malcolm X's "The Ballot or the Bullet" speech, from 1964.

Ain't nothing changed but the year (and the numbers). LOL

What would Malcolm , or Dr. King or Kennedy or even Nixon ( who by the way was the first President to be a card carrying member of the Naacp since 1959) say today.
As a minority, I refuse to let the government keep me down.
They say History repeats itself, let see if we can draw parallels.
A brief history, after the government tired of trading with us, they quite simply took what they wanted.
They came and in the early morning they shot canons at us while we slept, and those who ran, were chased by soldiers on horseback who shot us or stabbed us in the back, they killed our children, because nits grow into lice.
Those who were taken captive, were allowed to be detained indefintely ( gee sounds like the law that was just passed )
They rounded us up and put us on Reservations and told us , it was our land for as long as the grass was green , yet they refused to give us title to our own land, to do with as we pleased. ( Fannie and Freddie ? )
They took away our guns and bows and arrows, left us with no way to defend ourselves or hunt for food. ( obamas boy Cass Sunstein is working very hard to take away our second right Amendment, they want to dis-arm us again )
They cut our hair and sent us to boarding schools to learn english. We were not allowed to practice our own religion, because when we did, we ended up with Wounded Knee and the Sand Creek Massacre. ( we now have a government trying to tell the Catholic population they can practice religion on the government terms, ) Freedom of speech and religion are 1st Amendment rights and both are at stake.
To keep us subdued they threw food at us ( welfare ) gave us no real opportunity to grow with the rest of the country.
They gave us government healthcare, reservations have the highest infant mortlity rate in the country, as well as the lowest life expectancy rate, 56 is the average age one can expect to reach. The care is substandard to say the least.
Americans are being kept down, in the exact same way.

@ Louise
Yeah, that's what they've been telling you.
That's what they want you to believe.
I hope you stop drinking that kool-aid someday, Louise.

Very well put, sully. That about covers it.
And now it's Obama's war on Christians.
Trying to force Catholics to go against their religious beliefs to kill babies and such.
The man is evil in his soul.

@sully: Lots of parallels, indeed.
I remember as a little kid reading in Revelations (yeah, I was different. :-p) about how Christians would one day be persecuted and thinking to myself, "How could that possibly happen, here, where so many people practice that religion?"

Back then, schools were still putting up holiday decorations, and kids running, wrestling, and even the occasional fight during recess were expected, not arrestable offenses.

Ridge, we are a conquered people, plan and simple we had to adapt to the people who conquered us, There is not a counrtry on this planet that does not share a similar history.
As sad has history can be, you can forgive, move on but, never forget.
I believe in the American dream, where are children grow up with real aspirations, as to who they want to be.
I refuse to sit on the couch, waiting to be fed, I will not be told, I'll be made comfortable instead of cured.
I am tired of the big bloated government taking and taking and taking.
We are at a tipping point, financial meltdown is close at hand, and people need to wake up.
