People need to remember that big cities are full of people who are used to the government taking care of them and they will expect somebody to take care of them in emergencies too. These are the people who will violently take what is yours if they get the chance and you allow it.
Being well armed, well trained and disciplined will be critical when the entitlement crowd gets hungry.

I can remember a power outage years ago from an ice storm. I stopped at a harware store and purchased a 12 volt light bulb used in campers and such. Hooked it up to my car battery and had light.
