If I was the republicans in the house and senate I would call for the repeal of these tax breaks also. Call the dems hand in the house and senate. Let the dems make their floor speeches during deliberations and then vote on it.
Tired of hearing about it. Whats a few billion to the oil companies. They will only add the tax break loss to the price of doing buisness and add it to the price of the product to the consumer.

But the Pres wants to use this money to advance his green energy policies. It would be a double loss to taxpayers as they would lose at the pump as well in federal budget savings.

His Energy Secretary told the truth when he said Obama wanted to get our gas prices up to the level of Europe's at 8 to 9 dollars a gallon to make green energy seem affordable.
Then, when there was an uproar about it, they started lying about their plans and now say they want lower prices.
Unmitigated, baldfaced liars.
Typical democrats.

Blame oil companies my ass.
I just read a couple articles where Pres Obama has stalled oil drilling on Atlantic coast for five years. Gotta do their research on the matter they say.
He already stopped the oil lease sales that were to be done in 2011 so this should stall sales until 2018.
Anyone for bicycle stocks.

Obama is doing it right.if too hastily and an accident happens, guess who they blame.also the oil companies get huge profits and wealth for their ceo's and we the people are making them filthy rich.congress has their insider stock purchases,so they get rich off oil stocks.
