Today is the Day!

Published:

I woke up this morning with a certain anticipation, you know the kind like you have before a big game or a big event, because for many millions of people in this country, we have a big event that takes place tonight around 11:59 Eastern time - the drawing of the super large Powerball lottery. For many, it is a shot in the dark, a stab at immortality (not to mention financial security), but nonetheless, it will most likely be a "donation" to the winners and the governments that are involved. Do I think that it will hit tonight? Almost certainly. Unless, of course, the powers that be want to make this jackpot the largest in U.S. History, which wouldn't be surprising either.

I also noticed that MegaMillions didn't hit either. $145 million isn't "chump change" either, and I believe that the jackpot will start soaring there too once the Powerball fiasco has been completed (most likely tonight).

I will keep my fingers crossed as I watch the drawing tonight with my lottery club's 100 tickets in hand (that is, if I don't buy anymore later on) and I will probably hold my breath when I see a few of our numbers drawn in sequential order, only to be let down by a series of numbers after the first three that aren't anywhere near what we played. And to add insult to injury, the Powerball will not land on any of our tickets either.

But I will keep a hopeful demeanor today, and dream that maybe, just maybe, that I will have the pleasure of informing the other 22 new millionaires in our lottery club about the winning ticket that we have in our possession tomorrow morning!

Good luck to all and have a great Hump Day!
