This is why it's tough to define conservative.

I generally agree that Libertarianism is conservatism, which is why the most significant conservative influences I have are economists like Rothbard and politicians like Barry Goldwater and Ron Paul. I define conservatism as an adherence to the Constitution and the principles of limited government and free markets.

But a lot of people would define conservatism differently.
