Even if someone is not on the web there are sites available where you can pay a fee for an extended search on a person for all sorts of public data that is recorded.
There is no privacy anymore.

very nice! but don't most people create online personas to keep their 'off-line' life separate from their 'on-line' time?

You're correct, jap69. Information such as phone books, arrest records, property records, posts to this site, can be found on the internet. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not.
