Gas is average pretty much. The only reason property taxes are still high, the senate won't accept the others bills.

You guys might find this surprising, but I think the author is somewhat correct. Please don't get me wrong, I really like Christie. In fact, I briefly met him last year, and my comment to him was "DON'T CHANGE!", and his reply was, "Don't worry, I won't." But Chris Christie is not a down-the-line conservative. He has an interesting mix of pragmatic characteristics, and most of his positions are conservative -- but certainly not all of them.

He is refreshing in that he is not an ideolog. As I said, he is quite pragmatic.

The thing I really like about Christie is that for issues that might not personally sit well with him, he is willing to let the voters (and the rule of law) decide. He is a former prosecutor, so he is well-familiar with how the existing laws can eventually set things right.

Too many politicians will play to their political base, even though most people are against whatever they are trying to push.

A great example is gay marriage, which Christie says he is personally against, but which he says he will abide by if the voters want it. You can see how this position is not a down-the-line conservative position, yet it puts the PEOPLE in charge of how it ultimately works out -- which IS a conservative principle.

At the end of the day, people like Christie is what America needs -- and has too few of.

Yeh! right the crowdly way out !! and I stand on that. If theCivil Rights Bill been left up to the people .We would still be picking Rednecks Cotton with no pay and coming in the back door! Go figure that!
