Jap about 3 years ago, my husband was on contant lay off watch, Machines shops, were leaving right and left, guess what all of them had in common, yep , all union!
My husbands company survived because, they got un-expected overflow from other companies, that refused to do business with the ones that left, his shop is non-union, family owned.
