The first word in your sentence should be "was," jan-jan, not "were".
That way it won't sound so ridiculous.

Right now we have a fascist regime in power. Hopefully, the remnants of our representative republic will be able to oust the fascists and get back to the constitutionally based representative republic we miss so much. No more czars! Term limits! No property taxes!!!!!!

The best point made in that piece was: "Don't trust anyone with a PhD." Piled high and deep.
