I would like to know who that "someone else" was. Perhaps we could elect him to the White House. This incompetent community organizer needs to go.

I saw that video and nearly fell off my chair. As someone who built a business all by myself, I am deeply offending by his stupid, ignorant comment. It is clear that he has never built a business -- or even worked a real job in his life.

I am offend that the Republican Party and it's members will stop at nothing to try to defame this President by referring "Community Organizer" Crap! you all it doesn't matter what you say ,the truth of the matter,i mean"Truth",since we have the wonna be President(Liar)            he's "President" and you're not so hang on to your liar!liar! pants on fire, thoughts. The President was right! i have always said if you're rich you didn't get there just you alone , you needed many common people and regulars people spending their money for your ideas or products. Also a lot of rich Politician got their by giving millions or billion in contract to friends and special interest groups of taxpayers money and that takes many people to get that kind of money in the government funds. So i am apall at the audacity of the many haters of this good and decent man that they would go in the toilet to find crap on him something that never happen to a President in this country before ,it speaks volume about the Party.

Obamas'policies are starting to work, but takes time.just today i read china is lowering foreign investment taxes.
i admit that a law professor at harvard teaching law, does not have a lot of business experience, but he's learning.if he didn't have to fight republicans' congress all the way,it would go faster for him.

@louise: As usual, your comment does not deal with the subject matter of this blog entry. It is irrelevant.

@scorpio: It does not take four years for the economy to rebound. Reagan did it in 2. And that was a much worse economy, with much higher unemployment and the threat of nuclear war looming. The difference is that Obama does not have the experience or knowledge to lead the world's largest economy, and neither does his team. When is he supposed to finish learning? After we are completely sunk? Time to stop rooting for the president with the undying fanaticism of a sport team, and root for the success of the country instead.

Todd thinks that the world today is the same as it was 25 years ago when his Patron Saint Ronnie of Reagan left office.
The only threat too at that time was Ronnie Raygun's Star Wars boondoggle he wanted.
Time for Todd to enter the present instead of re-living the past.
P.S.
Reagan didn't win any cold war neither. That Conservative and Republican fantasy long ago was debunked.
The Soviet Union collapsed because of its own volition and 10 year involvement in Afghanistan(sound familiar?)
They couldn't keep up the spending with their infrastructure collapsing and The United States supporting Osama Bin Laden and the Mujahadeen.
I wonder if Todd has ever seen that $5 thousand dollar sniper rifle that his patron saint Ronnie gave Osama in the oval office ceremony where Reagan welcomed Osama and a couple of his Lieutenants and called them "Freedom Fighters" on a level of the Founding Fathers?

No! I could have said more ,but restrained myself. the truth of the matter what you mean that he and his team don't know how to run the largest economy in the world "EXCUSE ME" who do you think was running this large economy the previous 8yrs 2000-2008? Do you Republicans think the American People is stupid ,we can see that this economy would in in great shape or much better if not for the "we are ging to make sure President Obama is one term President crowd" they have done everything including throwing the kitchen sink at him . Give it up ! he will be re-elected and then what? you people kill me with all this world ending propaganda! Like i said before the President is right!!

The three musketeers are angry today! :D

Getting back to the subject at hand, if any one of you has started a business, please pipe up. Otherwise, I am wondering how in the world you have the perspective to say that Obama is "right" that the business owner does not get credit for starting the business and creating jobs. Funny that the guy who said that has been running running this country for the past 3.5 years... into the ground.

Example:oil companies highly subsidized by tax payers money, even though they don't need it.
Texas is one of the highest contributors to romney/republican super pacs, around 13 million bucks last month.taxpayers money;we don't know where it comes from, but probably!
Avatar Todd -

Actually, I don't think you know all that much about the oil business. The oil business is one of the most highly-taxed and highly-regulated industries, and contributes far more to the federal government that it gets in subsidies.

But that's besides the point. We are not talking about oil companies, we are talking about people starting businesses. The majority of jobs in the United States are created by SMALL BUSINESSES. Get it? And Obama made the *ludicrous* statement that the people who start these small businesses are not the ones who created the business and created the jobs.

The exact quote is:

"If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Bulls**t. Let Obama come to my house and I'll explain my business to him, and how it "happened".

I also created and own my own business. Just because I sometimes use a hammer to do my work doesn't mean the logger who cut down the tree for my hammer owns a piece of my business.

This sounds like communist-speak for banning private ownership of anything.

Just to show what a frigging hypocrite Obama is, let's take the quote above and compare it to what he said about Steve Jobs after he died:

"By building one of the planet's most successful companies from his garage, he exemplified the spirit of American ingenuity. By making computers personal and putting the internet in our pockets, he made the information revolution not only accessible, but intuitive and fun. And by turning his talents to storytelling, he has brought joy to millions of children and grownups alike. Steve was fond of saying that he lived every day like it was his last. Because he did, he transformed our lives, redefined entire industries, and achieved one of the rarest feats in human history: he changed the way each of us sees the world."

Somehow I guess Steve Jobs personally built the most valuable company in the world *himself* (according to Obama's own words), but a small business entrepreneur does not actually build the company he or she starts.

I hope all of you Obama cheerleaders can see how to use facts and logic to make a point. It would be a pleasant reality if you would occasionally attempt to do the same, instead of doing nothing but insulting people who don't agree with you.

Rome wasn't built in a day and for that matter 4yrs. Just remember the President has to have the help of the Congress .Question for you how long did it take FDR to bring this country out of the" Great Depression" . Sure i know how to run a business and i have lots of friends and families with their own business. It would be good if some of these government contracts would consider giving the bids to minority small business also.

Louise: Again with the government stuff. No, let's get rid of most of the bulbous government, and have more private contracts with other small businesses. That is how an economy thrives. More government contracts mean more money TAKEN from people and businesses by the government. The government then WASTES most of that money, and OVERPAYS its contracts. And who gets those contracts? People who are connected to the people in power in the government. Solyndra and the other "green" companies that got *billions* from Obama is a great example. How many jobs were created from all those billions spent by the government? Almost none, and the billions of dollars are GONE (and now owed to the Chinese because we borrowed that money from them). Meanwhile, if those billions of dollars were still in the hands of PRIVATE people and companies, those dollars would be spent far more wisely on work and jobs, and not wasted on people politically connected to the president. All those jobs would naturally create more income for the government (not less), because more people would be paying taxes.

The government does not make free money out of nowhere to give to people. The government takes money from its citizens -- or borrows it from other countries -- and re-distributes it. Eventually, if the government takes and borrows too much and grows too large, then then government becomes unsustainable and collapses.

Do you truly not believe that this country could collapse? We tend to think of ourselves as invincible, but maybe if you take a few minutes to try and think of one single government throughout history that did NOT collapse, that might help put it in perspective.

See all the democracies around the world? They did not exist before the United States was founded 236 years ago. What do you think would happen to the democracies around the world if the United States government collapsed?

Louise,
I read an article a while back about the City of Chicago doing a big sidewalk and curb replacement project in one of the neighborhoods. They had to award a certain percentage of the contracts to minority concrete contractors.

Well, it didn't work out too good cuz they had to go back and rip out and replace all the sidewalks and curbs the minority firms poured because of the substandard work. But they still got paid. And they still had to give contracts to the minority contractors, knowing that they would have to re-do everything they did, costing them twice as much to complete the project.

Maybe that's why there might be a little hesitation to rush into giving a contract to somebody based on their skin color rather than their qualifications to do the job.

Scorpio, you are doing nothing except being a troll, and you are incapable of having a reasonable discussion. From now on I guess I'll have to just ignore your comments and post my own as if you did not say a thing. I would encourage other reasonable people to simply ignore comments made by people who have nothing to say except insults and troll-like comments. (Trolling is posting comments for the sheer purpose of upsetting people -- not to engage in dialog.)

The owner of a business is ultimately the ONLY one who can build (or destroy) his business.   Obama's statement defies logic.

sorry,i guess i see what is happening.republicans don't like big government.timothy mc veigh didn't and bombed the government building.just saying that republicants breed people that are anti government like mc veigh,so be careful.i know it's easy to say someone is a troll,if they don't understand their logic.

Todd, you did a make a valid point in your statement, but my point was that the people help make a person business and it's the participation of the public that help make a business successful.I said it would be good if they got some of the contracts ,cause they usually don't consider them.My friend is a designer and is excellent at what she do ,she could have easily made those Olympic suits fine. Better than China.

Greece, Italy, England, pick anyone country in Africa, Austalia, collapsing, we are on the brink, Our business customers are now coming to us with requests for workers, I had 3 job offers in 2 days.
Our business customers are seriously changing the way they do things, even some of our Gentlemens club owners, are not selling food or alcohol the way the used to.

Government spending out of control, easy entitlements, and people refusing to work at all, it's catching us, those green energy jobs, biggest mis-stake ever,
We have a health crisis with diabetes type 2, heart disease and high blood pressure, and this is becoming a problem in people as young as 2.
Houston we have a problem !

Gays aren't a legally recognized Minority, Louise. There are no set-asides or Affirmative Action or guaranteed jobs ahead of everybody else for gays. And I don't think the govt. is giving out contracts for high-fashion hair stylists anyway. And thank God they don't have to hold up construction projects until they can find gay construction contractors. We should count our blessings.

Yeah, I've tried having a civil discussion with these troll idiots before they were deemed idiot trolls............... many, many times but it was futile and frustrating the level of intellectual dishonesty emanating from the keyboards of these smelly foul trolls.

But this is true, I have recently complimented dorkio actually writing something that was factual and true, but I think it clicked the Post Comment button before reading what it wrote.

These trolls louis, black, dorkio, and booby, and now janet....................... cannot be left to post their troll dung w/o some type of retort, some of the dung they write is absolutely disgusting, racist, and false. I believe since they cannot comprehend facts and truths so therefore I berate the tripe they write. I also blocked them from my blog because I can, they've never written anything other than insults and falsehoods on my blog so I blocked them pi$$ off trolls.

from comment #28 "Yeh! like we care,"

The key word is WE, I wrote many times it is two dudes louis and black, or WE is dorkio, louis, black, and booby , they must be trolls unpaid, paid, schizophrenic, troll freaks on a mission to be the tool leftist a$$ho1es they so naturally play.

Question is................... are the originating IP's close or the same???????????

Then you have nothing to worry about, dorkio, and can now STFU and stop repeating the same moronic responses to every blog posted.
