I like to weigh the fire fighter analogy, yes we can't fight a big fire on our own especially the wild fires etc.. But we can do so much on our own in our homes and businesses to greatly reduce the need to call the fire dept.. Let me give a couple of ways, sprinklers, smoke detectors, common sense, keeping your dryers and furnaces maintained, and making sure fire sources are inaccessible to kids.... there are many more. My point is this the more we save ourselves from ourselves the less we need to see firemen at our doors.

Now the police................they are never there when you need them. So why bother?????????
