And we're told the answer is more spending.

Then by this admission nether the incumbent nor the competeors for the seat could balance the budget without rising taxes, cutting government jobs, and seriously hacking the benefits for SSI and VA recipients as well as the social programs and military budgets.

If you think for one bloody minute Romney won't cut or raise taxes eliminate programs and all the for mentioned your insane.

@four4me,
At least Romney will turn us in the right direction if nothing else.
Obama thinks the way out of this hole is to keep digging.
He just doesn't know what the hell he's doing.

If they could elect 2 presidents one repub. and one dem give them both 100 right hand men/women each together they couldn't fix it in 4 years maybe 12 yrs.

The old adage that you have to spend money to make money holds water if what you spend money on is what will turn a profit. A high speed rail system from coast to coast shoulda been built 20 years ago they have bounced the idea for over 50 years while other country's are way ahead of use in this area.

Now our infrastructure is obsolete why weren't we paying for this every time we paid our water and sewer bills money should have been set aside not at the last minute ask people to cough up money to repair a system they designed that is also obsolete. I could go on and on but i won't.

This morning Romney said he won't raise taxes and that's a bold face lie.

And he Obama can get anything done because he cant get any cooperation from the reb party.
Also don;t think for one minute if Romney gets elected that the dems wouldn't do the same back stabbing as your party has done.

There gonna do the blame game just like the dems did. It'll be we can't get it done because Obama screwed it up so bad.

Well that may be true to an extent Four4me, the reason being that there is No easy fix.
But were headed in the Wrong direction with the Potomus, and any continuation of this will have a devastating effect on everything and Everyone concerned....!

Four4me,
High speed rail system?
For what?
Every study has shown that hardly anybody wants it and hardly anybody would use it.
Should we invest billions in it just cuz you and a few others want subsidized train rides?
That's the kind of thinking that causes this kind of mess we're in.

I don't want a friggng train ride or a plane ride it was an example of failed attempts at doing something ingenious. Put your car on a train and travel to the west coast for 3/4 the money to fly yea thats a bad idea.

Have another 3 fingers of black jack..

Taking my tax dollars to build a train nobody wants and nobody will ride is not doing something ingenious in my book.
We're hemorrhaging tons of money on Amtrak already.
We have to subsidize people riding the train because if we charged what it really costs, nobody could afford to ride the train. Do YOU wanna pay for other people's train rides?
It costs taxpayers about $20 to serve a hamburger to passengers for $6.
Just another huge government-run clusterf*ck.
And Americans are tired of paying for it.

You're leaving one thing out in your crusade for high-speed rail, four4me.
NOBODY IN THIS COUNTRY WANTS IT!

Get this through your thick scull i don't care about high speed trains i used it as an example.

A lot of technology advancements are being done in other countries and WE have fallen behind in this area and many others.

Get this through your fat head, we haven't "fallen behind in this area" as you say if we weren't interested in "this area" in the first place.
When there's enough of a need for high-speed trains that it can support itself and be profitable, Private Industry will meet that need and not screw it up like government ALWAYS does.
If you want a nanny-state that provides everything to you for free, go find one somewhere.
This country is drowning in debt because of cheapskates like you who are always looking for for a free ride in one form or another.
What part of UNSUSTAINABLE don't you understand?

Look you peck o woods i have a van, a antique car, a pickum up truck and 2 antique motorcycles. Haven't been on a train except once when i went to the b&o museum. I have no intention of being on a train except maybe if i take the old fall special coal train from Baltimore to Ohio up through the Cumberland mountains.

rdgrnrComment by rdgrnr - September 10, 2012, 2:51 pm
Well I don't want to pay for your train rides whether it's on a bullet train OR a coal train. So loosen up, Mr Tightwad, and buy your own dam ticket without any help from me. Just because you're obsessed with choo-choo trains doesn't mean the rest of us are. Why don't you just get a Lionel train set and an Engineer's hat and sit in your basement going "WOOOOOO, WOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOO, WOOOOOOOO!

four4meComment by four4me - September 10, 2012, 3:18 pm
once again tar brain i got trains 50 feet from my house i dont need any more trains or your stinking cash i can pay for a whole bunch of tickets for any train on this planet.
19.
rdgrnrComment by rdgrnr - September 10, 2012, 9:19 pm
I'm sure you ARE able to buy tickets for any train you want because of sponging off the government all your lazy-ass life, Bonehead. But you won't buy a ticket even if you can. Why? Cuz you're a cheapskate just like ALL Democrats are. So go watch those trains that are 50 feet from your house and wave to the engineer and go woooooooo, wooooooooo and pretend you're on the train when he goes by because it'll be a cold day in hell before I chip in to enable your choo-choo train fetish.

Don't you worry about what I'm entitled to... i paid my fare share of health benefits through several HMO's. If i could get out of this wheel chair I slap you upside your bony little head.
