Personally, I don't think there was ever an affair....there is more to this story...!!!

His biographer lady friend name came up. Paula Broadwell (sp?). Saying she may have gotten hold of some of his emails and extensive classified information. The FBI is on it.

I betcha he was set up to keep him quiet about Benghazi and the people who died there waiting for help from Obama.
The administration thought they could keep him quiet by dangling the affair over his head.
But he may have foiled their plans by just telling his wife himself and resigning.
Now he'll get mega bigbucks for the book and movie rights.

Pretty much a concern of security breach from what I've been told. Until this unfolds more, no one can know what's really goin' on. There's goin' to be all kinds of speculation surrounding this deal...like he resigned because Obama was re-elected...so forth and so on.

At the end of the day, the DIRECTOR of the CIA has an awful lot to lose if caught, by the FBI, in something like this. Damage control is always better than being REACTIVE...if this story is at all true.

They don't want him to testify.

Okay, the two were in Afghanistan together for a year. Not to condone infidelity at all, but a year is a very, very long time to go without "natural desires." It is stated that he continued to persue her, and, I suppose this meant after the one-year tour together.

The timing of the Benghazi trial along with his resignation is drawing more attention...for me. Realistically, the FBI has the ability to check all things call records and/or texts regarding a compromise, or, breach in security regarding Benghazi. As such, if the president really had anything to do with this, with the election at stake, they would've exposed it much much sooner. Just my opinion thus far...
