I remember when I was a kid when farmers use to take the pellets out of a shotgun cartridge and reload it with rock salt. Use to work great for foxes. Pepper their ass with that they are not likely to forget it. The foxes use to tell the rest of the foxes about it and they stayed clear of the place.

I also remember we use to buy 22 caliber cartidges that had pellets in them. We use to call it rat shot. Get close you got em.
