Obama said he was going to take the authority to raise the debt limit thru the white house and not congress. Reid and Pelosi said they would back him on it. It will be a tough fight in congress to challenge him on it. Congress is going to lose to Obama on this one too.
Obama said congress creates the programs that create debt and that gives the government the authority to pay the debt.
Yet Obama, Reid, Pelosi and democrats put up a big fight when it comes to cutting expenses in congress.
There are other amendments in the constitution other than the 14th in regard to the duties of congress on this matter. I would need to look them up.

The last thing we need is a higher debt ceiling.
The first thing we need is to stop spending like there's no tomorrow.
Cut spending and you won't need a higher debt ceiling.
Problem solved.

Republicans had the largest debts ever! LOOK IT UP. But all they scream about is spending and that's exactly what they have over done always. DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE. The only two recent presidents who didn't leave a deficit is clinton and carter.   Republicans have always been the big spending and while you are at it research the number of indictment during the Reagan Administration.

Maybe if we do research on Obama not passing a budget in over 3 years we may find some better facts.
Obama has been working with a last passed baseline budget that contained 900 billion dollars in stimulus money. That 900 billion dollars has continued yearly since he has been in office.
That added 900 billion dollars yearly in the budget certainly changes the math on his term in office.
Looks to me like Obama got to keep 900 billion yearly not charged to him.
If the budget that was to be passed the following year of the 900 billion stimulus the 900 billion would have been removed as that was to be a one time deal as I understand it.

Democrats here don't want to discuss solutions, they just want to make sure their food stamps keep comin', that's all they care about, just like 50 million other Democrats. And when the economy collapses under the weight of them and all the other parasites, they'll be looking up at the sky wondering who's goinna feed 'em now.

BTW, do you know the breakdown of people that use food stamps since you look down on them so much. Let me enlightened you if possible.
Have you seen the breakdown of people who are on Food Stamps?
Here it is:
The racial breakdown of food stamp recipients is as follows:

41% white
36% African-American
18% Hispanic
3% Asian
2% Native American
1% unknown race or ethnicity

Ramone, inbreds fall under 1%, so you are included.

LiL, SPEEDY, your numbers are misleading, that percentage is a breakdown of 100 percent of the food stamp recipients, you need the total population numbers.
whites vs. whites on welfare
Blacks vs. blacks on welfare etc etc,
Whites outnumber blacks 8-1
9.6 percent of the white population on welfare
77 percent of the black population on welfare

As I recall, you said my numbers were wrong when I posted the electoral votes...I was right then and I'm right now. Also, black and white are not the only ethnic groups that receive food stamps. The 1% is included in the 100%...if you had an adequate math background, you would have known this.

There was cheating, we both know it, no way did 59 districts in Penn vote 100 percent for dumdum.

The American people did not want Romney as president...so quit making excuses for his humiliating lost. Quit living in denial!

No, all the people with their hands in other people pockets didn't want Romney, what odumdum is doing to this country will unfortunatly catch up to those who voted for him first.

You need to be thankful George Bush is no longer president. Or do you think you were better off?
Avatar sully16 -

We were all better off, keep this in mind, when the government starts controlling food prices, then you'll get it, as soon as the government steps into our food, through pricing and rationing, you'll get it.

That's where you are wrong. It did not matter who would have been president in 2008, we were still on our way to a recession or worst. This is nothing compared to how it could have been. You have eyes, but you see not.

lilspanky,
I carefully checked out your whole theory and I have to admit I only found one flaw - it's stupid.
