So no, Eric Jacobson most certainly dos not "have this straight" at all.

I have no problem at all with women fighting for their country in any capacity they are physically and mentally able to fully, functionally fulfill.

Having been "on the front line" I can tell our lil' buddy Eric here has not. The real objection I have to women in extended, aggressive, offensive ground combat roles is my sympathy for the men they'll serve with. Out there on the "front line" things can get pretty primitive. Hygiene suffers greatly. You get really stinky and enjoy all kinds of nice rashes.   It's nasty, and that's putting it mildly. Now add to that a woman who's menstruating, doesn't have female hygiene supplies and it's been a couple weeks or more since she had enough spare water to take a spit bath out of her canteen. I don't begrudge the girls any job they can actually perform, but I do feel sorry for the guys who will have to suffer their presence in some of those jobs.
