I assume it's the author who is no longer a republican, not bush.

The weird thing is, what exactly is this guy going to become? A democrat? The democrat party is so far to the left these days that I have a hard time believing anyone who thought of themselves as a republican could covert. In other words, I do not believe the author was a republican to start with.
