We need background checks for anyone buying guns eliminating mental retards and felons from aquiring anything with a trigger. Fairground gun shows need to be outlawed. This will eliminate the remaining twisted morons from ever owning a gun.

I agree with background checks. Portions of this gun bill just went to far.
With background checks this legislation had the intentions of going to far with deciding who may own a gun for those with the mental capacity to own a gun.
Even the NRA was in favor of background checks. The current background checks are not fully enforced as they stand now.
The senate would not even vote in favor of an amendment to allow veterans to own a gun for those ok'd by a judge.

The critically important issue we need to remember in this debate is the Democrats' final objective which is a total ban on gun ownership by American citizens and repeal of the 2nd Amendment and ultimately the whole Constitution.

Their eyes are not on "saving the children" because their proposals do nothing to achieve that end. Their proposals and bills are all calculated and incremental steps in their ultimate goal of disarming the American public to facilitate an easier implementation of the police-state they dream of.

Because when the final declaration declaring our Constitution null and void comes and you're not armed, what the hell are you gonna do about it? Nothing, that's what.

From that point on you'll do what you're told or be eliminated or whisked away with no recourse whatsoever.

Anybody who believes the unprecedented massive buildup of sophisticated weaponry and ammo for civilian and law enforcement agencies of the federal government aren't for a specific purpose other than training has their head up their ass.

We could solve 99% of our mass murder cases like Newtown by institutionalizing known deranged individuals like did prior to the 70's. That's what we need to do.

What we don't need to do is to keep punishing the good people for what the nuts do.

How would you like to be in Watertown Mass. today with those terrorists hiding in your neighborhood and you don't have a gun? How would you protect yourself and your family when they're climbing in your window or kicking down your door? Call 911? That's what Democrats want you to do.
