Let's see, Mount Rushmore is populated by the first president and "Father of our country" George Washington, the author of the Declaration of Independence and "Founding Father" Thomas Jefferson, freer of the slaves and Civil War hero Abraham Lincoln, and war hero and environmentalist Theodore Roosevelt -- and now Professor Paul Wahlbeck, who chairs the political science department at GW, says he believes that Obama could be added to the monument because of his race? Because of the color of his skin? I think that's the exact opposite of what those four presidents fought for throughout our country's history. Obama is president because the country no longer feels race is what is important, NOT BECAUSE OF IT. If some professor wants Obama on Mount Rushmore, he or she should start by listing whatever ACCOMPLISHMENTS he or she feels makes him deserving of the honor. Last I checked, being born a particular race or skin color does not qualify as an accomplishment. I'm so sick of racism in any form, and that's exactly what this is.
