I am devastated

Published:

I have loved the Atlanta Braves since I can remember and I ain't no spring chicken. But in all seriousness, we have lost our star player (Jason Heyward) for the rest of the season, possibly, because he was hit by a pitch, yesterday and his jaw was broken. I will cheer against the New York Mets every game the rest of the season, if my Braves' ship has been sunk for this season because of this.

I know how you feel Nbey. But, it's all part of the game. I looked at the pitch and IMHO it didn't look at all intentional to me. Really looked as though it hit the lower part of the helmet at first, but it didn't . I hope for a speedy recovery for Jason...!

Yes MADDOG, I feel that the pitch was innocent. I just hate the circumstances and the possible effect it will have on what was about to be, the season to remember, for us Braves Fans.

I was 15 years old!! Only games televised were on Sat, Dizzy Dean, Pee Wee Reese announcers. Those days, the games were fun. Since the World Series strike, haven't watched a single game.

I should have mentioned this gentleman, Hank Aaron, played RF. I think 1957 was his 3rd or 4th year, came up from the farm club in Jacksonville. Not sure, but I think he was MVP. Lew Burdette was Series MVP, won 3 games. I had the whole National & American teams Topps baseball cards. Had Aaron's and Mantle's rookie cards. Had Ted Williams baseball card. I had 13 shoeboxes full of cards. All was lost, my first year in the military. The home, I was raised in, burned down, all was lost. Think it's safe to say, I was a baseball fanatic!! or mom use to tell me I was.
