Seems like pretty good racial balance to me, except what happened to not being judged by color or creed. Oh, my bad the socialist are at the helm.

No worries, many others with big names were invited, but could'nt attend for various reasons as stated. Dr. King would'nt have had it any other way. But I know many people here, in particular, who would've screamed, "Somethin' in the milk ain't white!!!" If it were their party up there.

@LL Everyone else is not the nations only black Senator!! My guess is Oprah( She wouldn't let me touch the purse)Winfrey and Jamie ( Not even born, when the speech was given)Foxx, are more distinguished blacks!! The person who was in charge of invitations, should be ashamed for not inviting him.

Buddy, since when do you, or, anyone else here suddenly care so much about black senators? What about Colin Powell? He's black, he's decorated, high standing, and all that. He wasn't there. Condoleeza Rice...she's a high ranking black FEMALE and she wasn't there, either. No sex discrimination to call out BO on? I could go on, but I'd have to get really deep into this and I don't see your brain as capable of absorbing it all. Honestly. Get past all the race bait attempts here and look at it with face value.

My man Rush had the audacity to say that all the people, (R)'s, which were invited were only invited the day before the even took place. Really? He told his female caller this BS and she believed him...went right along with it. Now, any ignorant fool with only 1/4 of a brain knows to send out memos and give ample time for correspondence for such a monumental event for proper planning.

Yet, he fed her and the rest of his zombies that line of BS...and they bit. "Oh yeah, I know...he didn't want any Republicans there, Rush!"

Yeah, just as someone else said in another thread, "God, help us."

@LL I'm talking about the, ONLY BLACK SENATOR, in THE SENATE!! I don't care if no female is invited. Colin Powell lost my respect for him, when he endorsed Obama and his comments on the Zimmerman verdict, didn't help him any. Everything should have been about the advancement that blacks have made since, MLK's speech. There have been many changes and those changes should be celebrated. ALL for the better. MLKIII's remarks were uncalled for. Not in just my opinion, but others opinions, was an insult to his father. You didn't hear his sister agreeing with his remarks. I'm afraid too many people do not understand what the speech was about. The speech was about the opportunity for better education for the children, which leads to better jobs. It wasn't about welfare, food stamps, cell phones. That's all the majority of the blacks care about today. Trayvon Martins mother and father should have prosecuted for child abuse. His criminal record proves of his upbringing.
