Samuelson better read up on the social security trust fund and where it went besides social security benefits. Medicare was paid into by the user over the years also.
We have this health care bill where the government subsidize insurance premiums to the amount where they are qualified for. The elderly retired paid into medicare and if they want plan B with it they pay the government like $100.00 a month for plan B. If the medicare recipient wants additional for drug coverage they can purchase a supplement plan on the open market for like $50.00 a month. That is $150.00 extra per month above the initial medicare policy.
Then the medicare patient still has co-pay for doctor and hospital plus co-pay on medicine. Plus there are drugs and supplies medicare part D or additional private drug insurance does not cover.
So the senior citizen is paying about the same monthly for premiums with similar co-pays as a young adult who is getting subsidized premiums for health insurance.
Samuelson better do the math and go piss on another tree.
