From Wall Strwwr Journal

Published:

So it was Friday in its piece on New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's press conference and the overall "bridgegate" story. The Journal, in an editorial titled "Christie and the IRS" put the issue into a more proper context when it comes to abuse of public power.

In discussing Christie's "contrite" and decisive actions to fire staff he felt complicit in the scandal, the Journal contrasted Christie's approach to that of another executive recently accused of marshaling public resources for political purposes:

Which brings us to the Obama Administration, which quickly leaked to the media that the U.S. Attorney is investigating the lane closures as a criminal matter. Well, that sure was fast, and nice of Eric Holder's Justice Department to show its typical discretion when investigating political opponents.

This is the same Administration that won't tell Congress what resources it is devoting to the IRS probe, and appears to be slow-rolling it. It has also doubled down by expanding the political vetting of 501(c)(4) groups seeking tax-exempt status. Lois Lerner, who ran the IRS tax-exempt shop and took the Fifth before Congress, was allowed to "retire," presumably with a pension. Acting IRS commissioner Steven Miller resigned under pressure but no other heads have rolled. Yet compared to using the IRS against political opponents during an election campaign, closing traffic lanes for four days is jaywalking.

We raise this mostly because our media friends have been complicit in

These little things that the Obama administration keeps prosecuting over and over for pure political purposes while ignoring crime and corruption and conspiracy and murder carried out by his own administration will eventually come to be known as "high crimes and misdemeanors" in his Impeachment Proceedings or his Criminal Trial after he leaves office.
