I always snicker when I hear an actor interviewed and they describe what they do as an "art" or "craft". Sorry, but art is painting or sculpture or perhaps even writing or photography and a "craft"- at least to me - is skilled work such as pipe fitting or ironwork, even welding. (or, it could be a hobby craft, like basket weaving, which takes more creativity than does acting)

Is it any wonder they do such juvenile things in their private lives? After all, they pretend to be someone else in their "work" and live in a world of make believe.

Actors used to be thought of as having a talent, but on the whole, a little shady and not really fit to mix with decent society. I'm not sure just when the attitude changed, but it really shouldn't have. Actors flatter their worth to civilization when they speak so highly of what they do. I believe it was Robert Mitchum who said the most important thing about being an actor is showing up on time and remembering your lines. He wasn't squeaky clean in his private life, but at least he knew the value of what it was he did for a living.

Which is a good definition of a phony.
But Democrats idolize them and think they're political geniuses for some reason.
