savings for glasses

Published:

Well I did my checkbook bills for tomorrow out tonight and saw that I can put $220 away for my glasses.  So it is a start this month and I think that I can manage that much every month until I have my eye exam paid for and new glasses.  I like to get a good pair of glasses so that is why I will save for four or five months this year for my new pair.  My eye exam runs about $280 and then I figured about another $500 for the glasses.  Do at least four months of saving up for it will do but five months to be on the safe side.  My glasses that I have now are getting run down and old so they need to be replaced bye this fall.-weshar75

Weshar- $280 for an eye exam and $500 for a pair of glasses sounds awfully expensive. My husband recently got his eyes examined at a Costco along with two new pairs of glasses for about $300. You may want to shop around as there are reasonable deals out there.

I agree with Jill even @ Sams Club eye exams and glasses don't cost that much..... and that's without insurance...

I got my last glasses at Lenscrafters. They have a new machine that does the prescription lens grinding. These glasses are the most accurate I have ever owned, and the cost wasn't as much as what you anticipate paying for your next purchase. For your information, I wear no line multi-vision lenses.

I can't see paying $500 for glasses.
I just can't see it.
