Got a car for free tonight
Published:
Updated:
A couple of months ago I offered 5 grand for my friend's 2008 Toyota Yaris, 40,000 miles, excellent condition. That car prices higher than 5 grand.
I didn't have the money so I paid her 100 bucks every week for the past 10 weeks. Tonight she told me the car was mine with no additional payments.
At first I thought she was joking. I even grilled her to let me in on the catch.
Tomorrow we're putting the car in my name.
Basically, I took care of her cat and apartment for a month while she was residing in a drug abuse treatment facility. I expected nothing in return for doing this, except for the extra gas money for travel from the apartment to my job. It was a 50 mile round trip. She's been a good friend and helped me out financially a few months ago, so I it was my pleasure to return the favor. But I never expected anything like this. I'm still in shock after an hour and a half.
She just saved me 4 grand. You have no idea the weight she just lifted over me. I feel like I just won the p-4.
There are still some good people left on this planet.

It's unavoidable.
Even thoughts, good or bad.
And it's like gravity, it makes no difference whether you believe in it or not, it's there.
Congrats, that was a pretty good deal.
She's doing excellent too. Her determination to get her driver's license back is light years ahead of the timeline I expected. She's a registered nurse, and during her stay at the regional hospital, the doctor told her that she had a job here if she stayed clean for at least one year. I have no doubt she'll make that goal.
