I spent 5 days at the baltimore VA last week it ranked in the top 5 worst times i was ever there. They let me leave even though i was still not feeling well. Partially because i was getting tired of them doing finger sticks 10 times a day i raise the question every time i go there they stick you before you eat then they feed you and stick you again then they give you insulin. Food by it's own design raises your blood sugar but in my mind that's what's food is supposed to do turn sugar into energy to feed the cells but they insist that by lowering ones blood sugar your body will heal faster. How can that be i give up there's a right way a wrong way and the VA way.

On another note there all walking around scared of what's coming next clipboards in hand checking protocols and not one box of Kleenex to be had in the whole place. I'm still sick and dread going back there a short burst of prednisone didn't work now i will have to take 3 weeks worth of that crap talk about raising sugar levels that stuff is the pits.

@four4me I am sorry to read that.   I want to give you some advice (precautionary measures) my dad was 78yo. and was diagnosed with diabetes..........WRONG, never had sugar problems until the age of 78????? They mis diagnosed a pancreatic tumor that was wreaking havoc with his insulin getting progressively worse until it knocked him out one evening and we took him to the emergency room where they did a CAT on his liver bile pancreas area and found the tumor too late, he died three months later. Go get a scan, demand it, make sure they read it and confirm you don't have something else going on. For eg. Ruth Bader caught hers very early because she is an elite and is still alive. The earlier you know the better either way.

thanks jarasan i know panceratic cancer is tough i have lost lots of Viet nam vets because of it. i am having fluid on the lung issues narry a cold all winter then a week ago got a couple days worth of heavy pollen bawoom lungs feel like golf ball size air sacks lol. more meds and i'll be good to go sorry to hear about you dad. I know i take big risks going to the VA it's a teaching hospital i don't let them jerk me around to much if i don't like a doctor i ask for someone else.

They could have done this before and saved quite a few lives but they might have lost their bonuses.
Can't have that.
