What is the problem with public schools?

a*****es disrupting other students.

Students with attitudes.

Fights, drugs, culture wars, sexual harassment, no self discipline.

You can not teach someone that has learning difficulties in an advanced environment.

The biggest problem with teaching is the overemphasis of student's rights. Teachers hands are tied because the powers that be are more concerned about being sued than getting rid of disruptive and violent students. They are allowed to remain in class and disrupt while the administration does nothing but complain and talk about how they want you to raise test scores. I blame it all on these on-line degrees. They are not worth the paper that they are printed on nor is the person that receives one.

I'm with JAP on this one.."You can not teach someone that has learning difficulties in an advanced environment.
"
..let alone you can't teach people that don't want to be taught and use schools for a pickup joint
or a daily social gathering

As a retired teacher of 31 years, I totally disagree. Every child can learn! To think otherwise is giving up. It's our responsibility as a society to make sure every child has a chance in life by preparing them as best as we can.
