2005 Ford Focus

Published:

My father passed away in July, and, he had two CDs in trust for me totaling almost $40,000. I drive a 1988 Honda Civic (his last car) with 134k miles. I am seriously considering buying a 2005 car in the near future, perhaps next month, and I'm considering a Ford Focus (there is a Ford dealership less than two miles from me.) Yes, I plan to pay for it in LUMP SUM!!

I would like to hear your suggestions.

Sorry to hear about your father.
My younger brother swears by his '03 focus, although it no longer resembles a stock focus. It's all tricked out fast'n'furious style. even a flip-up screen in the dash and a PS2 :-)

If your a good saver and not worried about going thru all your money, try getting a zero or low interest loan. This way you can put your money away in case of an emergency. Also don't let the fact that theres a dealership close to your house be the sole basis of your decision. Use the net and research the cars you are interested in and also visit various dealships in your area.

Friday, 11/18, I bought a 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 SES from Colonial Ford in Danbury, CT (off exit 7 of I-84). My trustee drove me to pick it up. It cost $16,646 altogether after an immediate $2000 rebate. It had 124 miles when I took it over. I hope to drive it to Oklahoma next year to visit friends when its lottery starts.
