My 1st Lt was a graduate of West Point and having served under him I can say I seen a major difference between him and an non academy officer. The West Point officer had a higher degree of leadership.

I have nothing against West Point graduates, but I feel much safer going in to battle with someone that has worked their way through the ranks to 1st Lt. and is battle tested. More lives than normal will be lost with a green horn.
