LilSpeedy, of course you're a self-described independent, so I'm sure you will give each of the GOP candidates a serious look, and be weighing positives and negatives.

I would be happy to, but I didn't claim to be independent like you did. I claim to be conservative on most issues and libertarian on social issues. So I will be happy to weigh Democrats fairly against those ideals. The trouble with Democrats these days is that they tend to be socialist, bordering on communist. That is pretty much the antithesis of conservative or libertarian. But I will indeed fairly weigh them.
