long hard summer
Published:
this has been one long hot miserable summer.probably the worst one i've ever encountered.it has been hell literally.working in this heat when you can't breathe is not something i like doing but i've done it.i do guard work so i walk around a boiler, kiln and mill that have no mercy and will suck every breath you thought of breathing out of your body so fast you won't know what hit you.lost a lost of weight this summer not to mention being completely miserable.i'll be so glad when late september and early october arrives.i have also had the worst luck lotto wise too.have hit nothing all summer after having a very very good spring.i won nearly 5 grand this spring but nothing this summer.when i look back on this summer it won't be fondly and in fact i'll probably want to forget it.....

I know what you mean. Years ago I worked in a pizzeria, and the heat was overwhelming. I would have to escape the ovens and rush into the walk-in cooler just to take a few cold, fresh, and oxygenated breaths of air. It was terrible.
Those pizza ovens were brutal. Constantly opening them to check the progress of pies.....HOT HOT HOT!!!!!
The other job I had which was even worse than the pizza, was removing asbestos in july, on the roof of Sing Sing prison. That's right Sing Sing. Dressed in what looked like a "B" horror movie, with suits and masks and all, was a receipe for heat exhaustion. Digging old tar that was embraced by asbestos, and loading them into huge black industrial strength garbage bags, and then lowering them by winches to the ground. Then loading them 3 feet up to the back of a large hauling truck. HOT HOT HOT......
That job had my blood boiling.
Temperatures flared.
Hot Hot Hot.....
I'm currently working in an ice cube factory.
But it's too damn cold........
i read a book about sing sing.thats a brutal place!
I left a crucial part of that story out because it wasn't fit for the LP.
Having said that, the only way to explain what happened is not easy. I'll try to be as clean as possible.
On my first of 4 days there, I looked over to the yard below, where they played ball and used weights. One of the prisoners saw me looking down and said yeah....fall on my XXXX.
It was at that point, when I was scared, because the only way to have access to the roof was by way of an internal staircase, and the prisoners were amongs us, just walking by as I waited for my turn to climb up. To this day I can't believe how they allowed prisoners and civilians to inter-mingle.
Not a good place to be in....
