The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery grew to $53 million Wednesday.
None of the tickets sold for Tuesday's $44 million drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball. The next drawing will be Friday.
There were six second-prize winners from Tuesday night's drawing: 1 from Georgia, 1 from Illinois, 1 from New York, 1 from Ohio, and 2 from Virginia. Each ticket matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number, to win $175,000.
The winning numbers from Tuesday's drawing were: 6, 11, 27, 37, and 43. The Mega Ball number was 34.
The Texas Megaplier was 3.

at this point i think mega millions is a better game than powerball...
that it is, but the recent string of jackpot hits makes powerball seem like a game that is easier to hit.
