In addition to enjoying higher payouts and improved odds, Kansas eScratch players will be able to choose from more than 20 entertaining and interactive Internet games, including Hunting Bonanza, Groovy Hoops, Casino Golfer, Monopoly and Spin Words.
"Sales of eScratch have been somewhat disappointing since the initial launch of the game one year ago," said Kansas Lottery Executive Director Ed Van Petten. "Our players have suggested ways to make the game better, and we've listened. We think Kansas Lottery players will really like the new eScratch, and we're urging them to give it a try."
In addition to improving the odds, upping the top prize to $50,000, and adding a variety of new interactive games, the Kansas Lottery has made eScratch easier to play by revising the pricing and prize payout structure and adding an optional play slip. A new Name in Lights feature, which allows players to compete for high score, is another enhancement.
A first-of-its-kind interactive Internet lottery game, eScratch is designed to add entertainment value to the lottery experience. After purchasing eScratch at any Kansas Lottery retail location, the player accesses the eScratch Web site at www.escratchks.com to play a variety of games. After playing the games, the player will find out if he or she has won. The player then returns to the retailer to claim his winnings (claims over $599 must be claimed through the Lottery).
While eScratch provides an opportunity for "extended play" entertainment, playing the games on the Web site is not necessary to win, and high scores in eScratch games do not affect winnings. A player always has the option of checking an eScratch ticket immediately to determine if it is a winner. Once a ticket is checked, however, it cannot be played on the Web site.
